As we continue to expand, we are seeking talented individuals to join our Engineering Architecture team. This team is pivotal in ensuring top-notch design quality for both our B2C and B2B offerings, while also collaborating with Product teams to define and develop the next groundbreaking features of our products.

The architecture team is focused on cultivating full-stack expertise across Ledger products, and we are eager to enhance our team with a specialist in our Ledger Live technology stack.

Ledger Live serves as the central software for our users, enabling them to manage and monitor their cryptocurrency portfolios. It acts as a bridge between hardware wallets and various blockchains, providing a seamless user experience. With over 1 million monthly users, Ledger Live is a community-driven product.

This role is hands-on, and we expect our architects to engage deeply with the code, assisting engineering teams with their daily challenges.

Your Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Product & Engineering teams during the discovery and design phases of new product features.
  • Lead technical initiatives alongside Engineering to enhance our technology stack, address technical debt, and promote best engineering practices.
  • Provide expertise and hands-on support to engineering teams on critical topics.
  • Investigate innovative domains with a focus on practical Ledger applications.
What We Seek
  • Architects primarily support the engineering teams, ensuring high-quality design for key initiatives.
  • Work closely with product teams to define, develop, and implement requirements for new features.
  • Assist Engineering managers in identifying and prioritizing critical technical debt.
  • Contribute directly to the development activities of the squads you support.
  • Become a Ledger solution expert, understanding all use-case scenarios, particularly those outlined in this description.
  • Engage in transversal activities, including:
  • Participating in our open-source projects and nurturing our developer community by contributing to key open-source software.
  • Providing insights on the roadmap by estimating implementation complexities.
  • Enhancing Ledger's visibility by presenting our technological expertise at conferences or to clients.
  • This position will support the Ledger Live Hub team, as well as the eCommerce and Internal Systems team. The Live Hub team focuses on developing the front end for the Live wallet application across desktop and mobile platforms, while the eCommerce and Internal Systems team works on the Ledger web store and internal supply chain systems. This role is expected to evolve into a leadership position overseeing a small team of architects, requiring experience in managing highly skilled and autonomous technical professionals.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in technical design, development, execution, testing, and delivery.
  • Strong foundation in algorithm development and optimization across our technology stack, from low-level device interactions to blockchain technologies.
  • Proficiency in Typescript and JavaScript, along with familiarity in other programming paradigms.
  • Understanding of UI and front-end design patterns.
  • Experience with various application development stacks, including React Native, Android, and iOS.
  • Familiarity with web back-end stacks, including PHP.
  • Curiosity to explore blockchain technology and complex systems.
  • Experience leading small teams of senior and independent developers.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams to define project scopes, goals, and deliverables.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a team-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent presentation and written communication skills.
  • A degree in engineering or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with open-source contributions.
  • Background in embedded software development.
  • Familiarity with other Ledger backend stacks and languages, such as Python and Scala.
  • Knowledge of functional programming and GraphQL.
  • Understanding of cryptography and security practices.
