Within the Development, Expertise and Quality Department (DDEQ) of the Hermès Maroquinerie Sellerie Division, the incumbent is attached to the Quality Materials Manager.
Job Dimensions
Metallurgical pieces are exceptional products, serving as clasps or attachments on bags and small leather goods with very high requirements. With an elaborate design, they are made from the finest materials, using artisanal skills to ensure impeccable quality.
With two collections per year, we create over 100 new metal pieces annually.
The Quality Materials Department is responsible for ensuring the quality of metal pieces and processes at all levels, from development to series production, from partners to production sites, and finally to the end customer.

Our Supply Chain Must Gain Predictability to Ensure the Structural Growth of the Division
In a context of hypergrowth, it is necessary to refound and invent modes of operation adapted to our objectives, in a collaborative mode.
Job Purpose
Ensure the excellence of our materials quality, leveraging the artisanal skills of our partners and quality assurance in production.
The goal is to guarantee, in a highly challenging context:
- The launch of production, meeting the expected quality and deadlines (First-Time-Right).
- The assurance of obtaining the expected quality level throughout the product's life cycle.
The incumbent must be able to accompany change, imagine more efficient and collaborative modes of operation, train partners and internal stakeholders to anticipate, analyze, and reduce risks at each stage of the project.
MISSIONS
Accompanying Suppliers in Series Production:
- Declination and respect of Requirements for Partners:
- Ensure the correct declination and understanding of requirements (Material and Coating Specifications, innocuity...) from the house to partners.
- Support suppliers in compliance with new requirements.
Production:
- Ensure suppliers have all the tools to produce in accordance with house requirements (masters).
- Accompany suppliers in calibrating critical criteria (Hermès).
Treatment of Non-Quality:
- Be the focal point of the department on reception non-conformities and support incoming quality in decision-making on evaluating received pieces.
- Accompany suppliers in treating alerts (major or critical non-conformities) following the 8D format.
- Support internal clients (Logistics, Leather Goods, Quality Finished Products, SAV...) on quality issues.
Piloting Continuous Improvement Plans for the Department:
- Be the focal point of the service on continuous improvement activities in series production of metal components, in collaboration with partners and internal clients.
- Be the focal point of activities for switching metal materials, in close collaboration with the Bureau des Orfèvres, Logistics, and Procurement.
- Define actions for progress with Quality Managers, based on partner performance and quality assurance.
- Accompany change, promote collaboration, and adapt procedures to always progress and better respond to the house's objectives.
- Formalize the Development Quality Assurance System adapted to our supplier panel (evaluation, organization, control, surveillance, supplier management, analyses, and corrective actions, progress, audit).
Anticipating Quality, Regulatory, and Sustainability Objectives During Development of Metal Pieces, While Meeting Artistic Direction Wishes and Ambitious Deadlines:
- Pilot metal material risk analyses to define risks from conception, in collaboration with the BO or suppliers (AMDEC product).
- Participate in product risk analyses.
- Define packaging.
- Contribute to prototype qualification with the BO: dimensional, functional, mountability, mechanical resistance, process risk reduction,...
Ensuring Production Launch in the Expected Quality and Deadlines:
- Obtain from suppliers risk process analyses and challenge the implementation of appropriate surveillance plans.
- Ensure all controls and tools are in place at the supplier's and our sites to ensure production launch in the expected quality and deadlines.
- Draft control ranges (new metal piece products).
- Validate supplier repeatability.
PROFILE
- Engineering degree.
- 5 years of experience, ideally in the luxury, jewelry, or precision industry.
- Successful experience in improving supplier performance and quality assurance in development.
- Practical mastery of quality tools (8D, AMDEC, surveillance plan, audit).
- Oriented towards results and field work, with a culture of collaboration.
- Ability to arbitrate, animate, and work in project mode, to federate in leading change.
- Curiosity and proposal strength.
- Excellent written and oral communication level.
