Team Context:
You will join the Global Risk Analytics team, consisting of 8 members, responsible for monitoring and advising on Market Risk within the GEMS Business Unit. This collaborative team operates in a dynamic, technology-driven environment, where your contributions will significantly influence our commitment to excellence and innovation in risk management.
Role Overview:
As a Junior Risk Management Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting the risk management function. This entry-level position offers a valuable opportunity to gain practical experience in risk identification, assessment, and mitigation, contributing to the overall effectiveness of our risk management processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Risk Assessment: Conduct thorough risk assessments and scenario analyses to evaluate potential impacts of various risk events. Engage in risk identification workshops to provide insights on potential risks and their implications.
- Risk Monitoring and Reporting: Prepare regular risk reports and dashboards for senior management, highlighting emerging risks and areas of concern.
- Model and New Product Validation: Assist in validating risk models and assessing new products to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
Essential Skills:
- Data Analysis: Proficiency in data analysis tools, including Excel and Python, to interpret complex data sets related to market risk.
- Financial Acumen: Understanding of financial markets, instruments, and products.
- Risk Management Knowledge: Familiarity with risk management principles, methodologies, and best practices.
- Model Validation: Understanding of risk models and quantitative techniques for market risk measurement.
Preferred Skills:
- Regulatory Compliance: Awareness of regulatory requirements governing market risk management.
- Commodity Market Knowledge: Familiarity with the Commodity World is advantageous.
Soft Skills:
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey complex risk concepts.
- Analytical Thinking: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively within a team, fostering a positive work environment.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in finance, risk management, or a related field.
- 1+ year of experience in Market Risks, preferably in a Banking or Utilities context.
Languages:
- English proficiency is required.
