About the Environmental Science Department

Our Environmental Science Department (DEST) plays a crucial role in supporting Veolia's operational teams. We are dedicated to research and development, providing technical assistance to enhance analysis methods, treatment processes, and recycling initiatives.

The Opportunity: Microplastics and Nanoplastics Analyst

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Monitoring and Characterization team. This role will focus on characterizing microplastics and nanoplastics in various environmental matrices, contributing to our understanding of these emerging contaminants.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough literature reviews and normative research related to microplastics and nanoplastics analysis.
  • Design and execute laboratory experiments according to established protocols, ensuring quality control and adherence to deadlines.
  • Utilize pyrolysis-GC/MS techniques for chemical characterization of samples.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to all safety regulations.
  • Document experimental procedures, results, and analysis in a clear and concise manner.
  • Manage and update databases containing experimental data and analytical findings.
  • Perform routine maintenance on laboratory equipment according to established metrology guidelines.
  • Interpret and critically evaluate experimental results, drawing meaningful conclusions.
  • Present research findings effectively to internal stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the preparation of comprehensive project reports.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry.
  • Proficiency in operating GC/MS analytical instruments.
  • Mastery of spreadsheet software (Excel or Google Sheets).
  • Strong laboratory skills and a collaborative work ethic.
  • Commitment to quality assurance and best practices.
  • A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement.
