EQUANS is a leading provider of sustainable energy solutions, and our Solar & Storage team is at the forefront of developing innovative solar projects. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Solar Design Engineer to join our growing team in Toulouse.
Key Responsibilities- Manage project site constraints, including terrain analysis, wetland identification, and flood zone assessments.
- Design pre-construction layouts for utility-scale solar farms using industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, PVcase, and PVsyst.
- Optimize project performance by adjusting design parameters like DC/AC ratios to maximize energy production.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
- Stay abreast of emerging solar technologies and evaluate their potential application in our projects.
- Provide technical support for interconnection applications and engage with EPC contractors to ensure successful project execution.
- Prepare clear and concise project status updates and reports, effectively communicating progress and challenges to stakeholders.
- Lead and mentor junior team members, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the design and development of utility-scale solar PV systems, with a focus on projects exceeding MW scale.
- Proven expertise in CAD design principles and proficiency in solar modeling software such as AutoCAD, PVcase, and PVsyst.
- Strong understanding of solar power plant design principles, including system sizing, component selection, and performance optimization.
- Experience in value engineering for solar projects, identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising project quality.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with diverse teams.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving abilities.
