Position Overview
The Global Projects Centre (GPC) serves as Subsea7's hub for executing our most significant projects on a worldwide scale. Within the Systems Engineering division, the Senior Subsea Systems Engineer will play a crucial role in delivering a technically sound and optimized system solution for major SURF FEED and Execute projects managed by the GPC.
Key Responsibilities
- Define system functional requirements and resolve critical design decisions.
- Identify and manage technical interfaces while mitigating risks and uncertainties in design.
- Implement design validation processes to ensure effective and purpose-fit solutions.
- Coordinate system design across large, multi-location technical teams.
- Engage with clients to showcase our capabilities and innovative solutions.
- Collaborate with the Subsea7 Field Development Group to align business objectives and ensure smooth communication between engineering and execution teams.
Specific Duties Include:
- Communicating system design and functional requirements effectively.
- Ensuring mechanical and functional compatibility across the system.
- Managing design trades to optimize system performance based on identified drivers.
- Supporting the Tender team in interpreting client requirements and developing execution strategies.
- Identifying and managing key technical risks, ensuring critical items are escalated.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a degree in engineering or a related field, with a strong background in Subsea Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Engineering Management. A minimum of 10 years of experience in subsea projects is essential.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Proven Systems Engineering expertise.
- Ability to lead multi-disciplinary technical teams in subsea projects.
- Experience in managing interfaces among engineering disciplines, project management, clients, and stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Demonstrated experience in collaborative working environments.
- Prior experience in Design Leadership or Project Management.
- Extensive experience in Subsea Engineering, Flow Assurance, Production Operations, or related fields.
