At Silgan Containers, we are seeking a highly skilled Material Science professional to join our team.
Key Responsibilities:- Monitor and evaluate new plastic raw materials, additives, and processes to ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and customer requirements.
- Develop deep understanding of plastic recycling regulation, certification, and technologies by region (USA, Europe, Asia).
- Assist in validation and certification of SDS product recyclability and assess competitors' and customers' recyclability claims.
- Take part in the development of products with lower environmental impact and develop our teams' knowledge of sustainability, recycling, and eco-design guidelines.
- Develop and manage projects such as POM or Styrene replacement, and coordinate with clients and stakeholders.
- Perform risk management to minimize project risks and establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation and define processes for Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) of SDS products.
- Strong understanding of plastic raw materials, recycling regulations, and sustainability principles.
- Excellent project management and communication skills.
