About the Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled researcher to join our team at Institut Mines-Télécom, a leading research and education institution in the field of energy and environment. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a cutting-edge project focused on the integration of pyroelectric materials in photovoltaic/thermal solar systems.

Project Overview

The project aims to develop an innovative concept for harnessing thermal energy in PVT systems using pyroelectric materials. The researcher will be responsible for conducting a preliminary bibliographic study, proposing integration configurations, performing energy static studies, and contributing to the development of a test bench and laboratory prototype.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct a thorough literature review on PVT systems and pyroelectric materials
  • Propose and evaluate different integration configurations for pyroelectric components in PVT systems
  • Perform energy static studies to select preferred integration concepts and carry out initial sizing of the installation
  • Conduct thermal and electrical characterization of pyroelectric materials
  • Contribute to the development of a test bench and laboratory prototype
  • Model and simulate thermo-fluid exchanges using finite element or volume simulation software
  • Optimize integration architectures and geometric configurations of pyroelectric components
  • Promote the work done by presenting at international conferences and publishing scientific papers
Requirements

To be considered for this position, the candidate should have a strong background in energy, thermodynamics, or materials science, with proficiency in finite volume or finite element modeling. Excellent analytical and synthesis skills, as well as proficiency in scientific communication, are also essential. The candidate should be able to demonstrate a real team spirit and have a good level of English for international collaboration.

What We Offer

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a highly innovative project, collaborate with a team of experts, and contribute to the development of new technologies. The position is available for 48 months, and the researcher will be based at Institut Mines-Télécom, with regular stays at our partner institution in Luxembourg.
