Position Overview

Within the Trains' Team at Orient-Express, the Procurement Manager will be tasked with establishing and overseeing procurement processes for railway projects associated with the brand, focusing on both primary and secondary suppliers.

An Engaging Context:

The Procurement Manager will engage in a project that demands precise oversight of purchasing and supplier relationships. With essential industrial contracts already established, this role requires close collaboration with the technical director and planning manager to ensure compliance with critical timelines and technical specifications, as well as with suppliers' procurement managers to uphold budgetary and technical standards. This position necessitates strong organizational abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and excellent communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders.

This role offers a stimulating and dynamic environment for a motivated professional eager to contribute to the success of a prestigious project within a renowned organization.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Procurement Management:

  • Monitor procurements from primary industrial suppliers, ensuring timely and compliant delivery.
  • Negotiate and finalize contracts with suppliers and service providers, securing favorable terms for Orient-Express.
  • Establish comprehensive supplier oversight through KPIs.
  • Identify and select suppliers and subcontractors for inclusion in the approved panel.
  • Issue purchase orders and manage receipts in collaboration with the quality and contract managers.

2. Integrated Lifecycle Management (ILS):

  • Initiate procurement activities for train components, including spare parts, aligning with project timelines and budgetary constraints.
  • Define optimal product-supplier pairings.
  • Establish ideal inventory levels.
  • Monitor orders from industrial suppliers, promptly addressing any issues to maintain project momentum.
  • Implement tailored stock management procedures to optimize inventory processes and ensure adequate stock levels.

3. Exploitation & Maintenance:

  • Collaborate with the Contract Manager to establish contracts related to exploitation and maintenance services, ensuring alignment between operations and the feasibility of maintenance and repair schedules.
Qualifications:

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Master's degree in engineering or commerce with a background in commodities.
  • Relevant experience in a similar role within the manufacturing sector.
  • Proficiency in French and Italian is required; knowledge of English is a plus.
  • Strong management capabilities.
  • Experience collaborating with multiple partners.
  • Ability to lead global negotiations for high-value contracts.
  • Comprehensive understanding of procurement processes.
  • Proficient in procurement software and tools.
  • In-depth knowledge of inventory management principles.
  • Ability to analyze value streams, cost drivers, and deconstruct cost structures.
  • Expertise in legal contract development and management.
  • Results-oriented, self-motivated problem solver with a proven track record of driving projects to successful outcomes.
  • Team-oriented with excellent communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, rigor, and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to travel on short notice.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of the railway sector and its technical specifics.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and standards in the railway industry.
  • Experience managing projects exceeding €500 million.
  • Background in the luxury sector.
  • Experience in procuring intellectual property.
