Role Overview
As a Mechanical Assembly Specialist, you will contribute to the VIMS division, which is now integrated into the international Zimmer Biomet network. VIMS is responsible for the development, manufacturing, and marketing of videoscopy solutions tailored for laparoscopy and arthroscopy, offering innovative broadcasting solutions for documenting and commenting on live surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Design mechanical assemblies for all components of the VIMS solution, including cameras, screens, furniture, central units, and invasive devices (such as trocars and ancillary tools).
- Create detailed 3D models, 2D drawings, and associated Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Engage in the assembly and testing of prototypes that you have designed.
- Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of the company's systems and their overall performance.
- Assist in the development of technical documentation, including instruction manuals.
Qualifications
- Experience: A minimum of 8 years in a comparable role.
- Education: BAC+2, BAC+3, or equivalent qualifications.
Essential Skills
- Understanding of the advantages and limitations of primary manufacturing processes for metal and plastic components.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
- Familiarity with technical drawing standards.
Desirable Attributes
- Knowledge of production cost structures (manufacturing and assembly).
- Understanding of ergonomics and mechanical assembly.
- Strong listening and communication skills.
- Curiosity and a proactive mindset.
- Ability to maintain focus and demonstrate meticulousness.
Travel Requirements
This position primarily requires onsite presence due to the nature of the work, although remote office options are available.
