- 10 to 15 years of extensive field experience in managing and implementing carbon projects related to forestry and agriculture, particularly in collaboration with local communities and integrating value chains.
- In-depth understanding of the voluntary carbon market, carbon certification standards, and relevant international frameworks such as UNFCCC and major agreements.
- Familiarity with co-benefits management tools and certification processes is advantageous.
- A well-established network and reputation in the relevant fields are beneficial.
- Willingness to travel internationally on a regular basis.
- Proficiency in English is essential; knowledge of French is preferred, and Spanish or Portuguese is a plus.
Strategic Vision Development
- Oversee technical and regulatory developments in the Carbon and Nature-Based Solutions market.
- Assist in selecting operations to create a balanced portfolio that meets carbon credit production goals.
- Ensure alignment of deliverables with TotalEnergies and TENBS strategic objectives.
- Lead technical feasibility studies for business development initiatives.
- Develop specifications for studies, including content, deliverables, timelines, and budgets.
- Coordinate contributions from external service providers during study execution.
- Conduct comparative analyses to identify optimal forestry and agricultural practices for carbon credit production.
- Collaborate with the ESG team to develop technical pathways.
- Support local subsidiaries in their development studies and corporate exercises.
- Participate in data collection and due diligence activities as part of business development.
- Manage validation and verification audits, including contracting and overseeing Validation & Verification Bodies.
- Contribute to the development of Monitoring, Reporting & Verification (MRV) tools and processes.
- Conduct competitive intelligence on climate negotiations, carbon markets, and methodological innovations.
- Share knowledge and insights within the team to enhance collective expertise.
