About the Role
Reporting to the Group Customs Manager, this role is crucial for ensuring compliance with customs and international trade operations across the Group's subsidiaries. You will play a vital part in maintaining the integrity of customs data and upholding our commitment to regulatory adherence.
Key Responsibilities- Customs Operations Management:
- Guarantee compliance with all relevant regulations and implement internal Group procedures and policies.
- Manage customs authorizations, permits, licenses, and service providers effectively.
- Data Security and Accuracy:
- Provide training and support to Tariff Classification Referees.
- Conduct regular audits of tariff classifications and ensure they are up-to-date.
- Regulatory Expertise:
- Stay abreast of the latest French and European customs regulations.
- Offer technical support and guidance to operational teams on customs matters.
- Process Improvement:
- Update internal procedures, models, and policies to reflect best practices.
- Implement corrective action plans for any identified non-compliances.
- Continuously identify opportunities to optimize customs procedures and workflows.
- Introduce innovative solutions to streamline customs operations.
- Data Analysis:
- Analyze customs data and generate performance indicators to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual with a strong understanding of customs and international trade regulations.
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in managing customs operations.
- Thorough knowledge of customs and international trade regulations.
- Solid understanding of commercial activities.
- Proficiency in SAP, with SAP GTS knowledge being a significant advantage.
- Familiarity with the chemical regulatory environment (REACH, PIC, drug precursors, dual-use goods) is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of customs taxation is a bonus.
- Fluent in English; additional languages are an asset.
- A curious and eager learner with a desire to stay ahead of industry trends.
