Product Sustainability Specialist Opportunity

Sephora is seeking a Product Sustainability Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our sustainability team, you will play a critical role in defining and implementing our brand sustainability standards globally.

The Opportunity:

With growing client demand for products with a lower environmental impact, we are setting our brand sustainability standards globally. The Product Sustainability Specialist will help lead one of our key regions in these efforts, as well as support brands globally on increasing product sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the implementation and ongoing evolution of the Sephora Public Chemicals Policy, including collaboration and communication with NGOs.
  • Support the evolution of standards for Clean & Planet programs globally.
  • Support the development of long-term product sustainability strategy and policies.
  • Support brands to adopt more sustainable practices and increase transparency.
  • Review and summarize technical information to help respond to brand inquiries about safer ingredient policies and building sustainability roadmaps.
  • Write guidelines and help develop training and educational materials on sustainability.

Requirements:

  • Understand and/or be apt to learn the best practices in sustainability, eco-design product development, and industry expectations in Sephora markets.
  • Have knowledge or have a desire to learn about the latest innovations in the beauty industry that have proven measures to lower environmental impact.
  • Help understand sustainability successes and pain points for brands regionally through regulation, size, availability of materials, or other factors.

Tools & Monitoring:

  • Improve the efficiency of operational systems, dashboards, and processes to track projects and product data, creating new ones as needed.
  • Develop and expand tools to track ingredient, packaging, and other sustainability metrics.
  • Create process resources and tools to increase sustainability adoption and communication internally and with the brand community.
