Description of the Offer

We are seeking a highly motivated engineer to contribute to our research team and advance the field of liquid-liquid phase separations (LLPS). You will have the opportunity to develop and utilize cutting-edge light scattering techniques to investigate the underlying mechanisms and molecular forces behind LLPS driven by added salts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Improve the light scattering setup combining turbidity, Rayleigh backscattering, and multi-mode dynamic light scattering.
  • Employ light scattering techniques and diffusion wave spectroscopy (DWS) to unravel the structural organization of proteins within the concentrated phase and map the response of the ATPS to variations in electrolyte type and concentration.
  • Collaborate with fellow researchers to decipher the underlying physicochemical principles that drive proteins to induce LLPS.
Requirements
  • Holder of an engineering degree with a specialization in instrumentation.
  • Strong background in engineering with a high motivation for biophysics, soft matter, or colloidal systems.
  • Prior experience in employing light scattering techniques and SAXS experiments would be highly advantageous.
About the Team

As part of our transdisciplinary team, which combines expertise in viral biology and classical physical chemistry of colloids, you will work closely with fellow researchers to advance our understanding of LLPS and its applications.
