We are seeking a Financial Controlling Manager for the Western Region who will oversee the accounting and controlling functions across Belgium, the Netherlands, and France.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Accounting and Controlling teams in France, along with the retained teams in Belgium and the Netherlands.
- Ensure that entity and group reporting adheres to financial policies and accounting standards.
- Manage internal control processes in compliance with SOX regulations.
- Participate in and lead initiatives aimed at enhancing financial reporting and operational efficiency (including SAP implementations and PSCI migrations).
Role Scope:
• Supervise month-end closing processes and reporting for the entities. Review and monitor financial data reported within the business unit (both internal and external reports).
• Approve or calculate financial manual journals/bookings in accordance with local and US GAAP principles (with a focus on France).
• Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions (specifically in France).
• Ensure control over financial aspects and implications in legal contracts, contingencies, and revenue recognition in line with local and US GAAP.
• Manage internal control processes for SOX compliance.
• Conduct research on technical accounting matters to ensure compliance.
• Lead projects related to financial reporting and efficiency improvements.
• Liaise with internal and external auditors.
• Responsible for reporting within the ERP system.
• Approve banking transactions and payments.
• Ensure timely submission of periodic and annual tax returns.
• Ensure compliance with other statutory reporting requirements (such as social security, Banque de France, Insee, etc.).
Required Qualifications:
• A university degree (or equivalent experience) with at least 10 years of progressively responsible experience in a large corporate setting, demonstrating a successful track record in addressing business challenges.
• Proficiency in English and French.
• Extensive knowledge and experience with SOX controls.
• Strong proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Self-motivated individual capable of taking initiative and working independently to meet reporting and project deadlines.
• Strong leadership skills, capable of guiding and directing a diverse team.
• Ability to operate effectively within a remote team environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
