Position Overview:
The Senior Manager of Technical Programs (TPM) collaborates with a dedicated team of program managers alongside account management and customer service personnel to oversee all technical facets of customer engagement. This role is pivotal in providing initial technical support to clients, assisting in the formulation of account strategies, and delivering essential insights on Amkor's capacity to meet customer packaging requirements. Responsibilities include technical inquiries, design development, implementation of change notifications, audit preparations, resolution of technical challenges, and conducting technical presentations and factory tours for clients.
Key Responsibilities:
• Serve as the primary technical liaison for designated customer accounts
• Advise on packaging strategies to optimize cost-effectiveness and product performance, ensuring success in the market
• Direct the development of materials and packaging roadmaps in response to customer specifications
• Prepare and deliver presentations on assembly technologies
• Organize customer visits for regular Technical Review Meetings
• Oversee new product introductions (NPI) in collaboration with Amkor's manufacturing teams
• Initiate customer designs and ensure follow-up (excluding design development)
• Facilitate orders for tooling and substrates to guarantee timely execution of NPIs
• Address technical issues related to packaging, processing, and materials, enhancing communication between customers and Amkor's manufacturing teams
• Develop and evaluate Design of Experiments (DOEs) to support customer data collection needs while balancing Amkor's resources
• Provide customer quality support, managing audit preparations and follow-ups
• Contribute to strategic positioning and technical alignment with customers
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline such as Materials Science
• A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in semiconductor packaging processes, materials, and applications
• Strong program management skills, self-motivated, proactive, and capable of daily customer interaction with exceptional problem-solving abilities
• Proven ability to communicate effectively in both large and small group settings, with excellent presentation skills
• Flexibility to work across both US and Asian business hours
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC), Design of Experiments (DOE), and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
• Proficient in English communication
Preferred Qualifications:
• Proficiency in Korean or Vietnamese is advantageous
Travel Requirements:
Domestic and international travel expected, ranging from 10% to 25%.
