Role Description:
As a Software Engineer at Symphony, you will be contributing to developing and maintaining Symphony microservices in a team that is responsible for delivering events in real-time in the Symphony ecosystem. A firm grasp of cloud architecture is required, specifically related to scalability, distributed systems, event streaming, and databases. The position also requires a solid understanding of the DevOps model, particularly CI/CD and GitOps.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including planning, development, deployment, and maintenance in an agile environment.
- Design, implement, and maintain software applications using Golang. Good knowledge in Java would also be appreciated.
- Collaborate actively with other teams within Symphony.
- Build and support automation and tooling required to build, deploy, and operate the Symphony deliverables in a public cloud environment following a GitOps approach.
- Support the infrastructure needs by collaborating with site reliability engineers.
- Participate constructively and collaboratively in backend design and code reviews.
Required Qualifications:
- BS in Computer Science and 7+ years' experience in software development of microservices (Java server-side development and/or Golang)
- Strong knowledge of cloud architecture
- Knowledge of database systems; ideally Redis.
- Experience working with Kafka would be appreciated.
- Knowledge about Kubernetes and Helm is a strong asset.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, highly collaborative, and agile global environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and good understanding of the best practices for building, testing, deploying, and monitoring software.
- Ability to work in a production environment with reliability constraints.
- Ability to learn new stacks and new tooling.
