As a global leader in hydrogen mobility, Plastic Omnium New Energies focuses on creating storage systems and solutions tailored for all forms of hydrogen mobility, including automobiles, trucks, and trains. Our expertise encompasses the entire value chain of fuel cell electric vehicles, offering high-pressure hydrogen storage solutions, fuel cell manufacturing, and an integrated hydrogen system that guarantees the seamless operation of onboard technologies.
Our goal? To equip automakers with state-of-the-art tools and solutions that will shape the clean and connected vehicles of the future.
Key Responsibilities- Validate all components acquired (BOM) for assigned projects from the Innovation phase through to full PPAP approval.
- Assist project teams and Operations during the transition from development to serial production, ensuring all pertinent information is effectively communicated to the manufacturing facility.
- Continuously manage the Quality status of components throughout the Serial Production lifecycle.
Performance Indicators- Complete implementation of CPCL (component prototype checklist) during the Prototyping phase.
- Evaluation of suppliers and timely closure of process audits.
- Conduct Safety Visits at supplier locations.
- Manage SNCRs (8D closure time, CCS closure).
- Timely full approval of PPAP.
- Engage in mapping suppliers for new commodities.
- Participate in audits for potential new suppliers to expand the supply base.
- Qualify new suppliers through evaluation audits.
- Train and develop suppliers to maintain or elevate them to the expected quality level.
- Actively contribute to building the supply base for New Energies and commodity strategies.
- Schedule audits for periodic re-certification of suppliers in accordance with industry regulations.
- Assist in supplier selection for new business awards, ensuring all essential documentation is in place.
- Clearly define and communicate Quality requirements to suppliers, including management of prototypes and PPAP requirements.
- Actively participate in technical reviews with suppliers.
- Attend kick-off meetings with the Plastic Omnium team and suppliers.
- Present and establish APQP to new suppliers.
- Regularly report on the progress of component validations.
- Identify and report risks associated with Quality, Cost, and Timing of projects.
- Issue Development SNCRs and monitor corresponding action plans.
- Monitor the progress of parts PPAP with suppliers.
- Collaborate with Quality & Engineering teams to ensure all specifications are adhered to in PPAP requirements.
- Participate in reviews of component drawings.
- Notify Purchasing and Project Management of any significant discrepancies regarding quality tool implementation at supplier sites.
- Organize process audits and assess gaps against provided documents for PPAP, ensuring corrective actions are implemented effectively.
- Approve, share, and archive Quality and PPAP documentation in accordance with Plastic Omnium policies.
- Receive, approve, and distribute Initial Samples.
- Collaborate with the Program Buyer to share a convergence plan for Quality documentation and PPAP.
Report and escalate any timing risks associated with projects.
Production Oversight- Ensure a seamless transition from development to serial production with the plant team.
- Define requirements for incoming inspection instructions in collaboration with the plant Quality team.
- Monitor component quality post-SOP (claims, supplier audits).
- Provide monthly reports on supplier performance using key KPIs.
- Alert management regarding significant quality issues.
- Initiate continuous improvement workshops with suppliers.
- Provide training to suppliers on Plastic Omnium New Energies processes and requirements.
- Track improvement action plans for underperforming suppliers.
- Propose enhancements for internal purchasing procedures.
- Master’s degree in Quality, Mechanical, or Electronics fields.
- Certified process auditor (e.g., VDA 6.3).
- Valid driving license.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Quality, preferably within the automotive sector focusing on Development Supplier Quality.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Quality tools (APQP, Problem Solving, FMEA, Control Plan, Continuous Improvement) and standards (VDA 6.3, ISO 9001, IATF).
- Strong understanding of automotive requirements (knowledge of railway/aviation industry standards is a plus).
- Proficient in reading technical drawings and familiar with GD&T principles.
- Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in German is advantageous.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and SAP.
- Understand the impact of activities on quality objectives and the risks associated with non-compliance.
- Strong communication skills across functional areas and with suppliers.
- Adaptability in multicultural and cross-departmental environments.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Innovative mindset with openness to change.
- Willingness to travel frequently, both domestically and internationally.
