Our 'Extremely Brilliant Source' has revolutionized experimental capabilities, particularly in the field of scanning X-ray techniques for spectroscopy applications.

We are seeking a talented Data Analysis Software Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development and implementation of innovative data processing solutions for these powerful X-ray applications.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and optimize algorithms and software tools specifically tailored for scanning X-ray spectroscopy data analysis.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, scientists, and ESRF beamlines to integrate these advanced data processing pipelines into real-time experimental workflows.
  • Explore and implement novel analysis techniques, including machine learning algorithms, to enhance data processing, experiment automation, and scientific discovery in X-ray spectroscopy.
Your Profile:

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a strong background in data science and a passion for X-ray research.

  • Hold a Master's degree or equivalent in fields such as Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, or Engineering. A PhD is a significant advantage.
  • Possess at least three years of experience in X-ray data processing and analysis.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Python programming language and experience with developing graphical user interfaces (GUI) using PyQt.
  • Have a solid foundation in natural sciences or mathematics.
  • Exhibit excellent communication skills and a genuine interest in collaborating with scientists from diverse backgrounds.
  • Be fluent in English, the primary language of communication at ESRF.
