The Corporate Equity sector within Goldman Sachs Asset Management specializes in investments in private equity and sustainability-oriented enterprises. This group invests across a wide array of industries, geographical areas, and transaction types. Our strategy is centered on long-term capital appreciation by investing in high-quality companies with robust management teams and actively facilitating their growth, aiming to create value and realize investments within a three to five-year timeframe.
Associates in the Corporate Equity sector are integral members of a talented team of investment professionals responsible for the acquisition and management of investments. You will participate in a diverse range of high-profile transactions, which may encompass management buy-outs, take privates, add-on acquisitions, build-ups, restructurings, recapitalizations, and dispositions, playing a crucial role in sourcing, deal processes, and value creation strategies.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Key responsibilities will include:
Analyzing and evaluating potential investment opportunities with a primary emphasis on French markets, developing and advocating investment theses, collaborating with an international team of professionals across Europe and global offices Based in Paris, with frequent travel commitments Actively identifying and sourcing opportunities, establishing relationships with key stakeholders Overseeing team members across various workstreams and managing external advisors Developing and enhancing financial models for company valuation purposes Conducting comprehensive due diligence tasks Supporting and engaging in structuring, negotiating, and documenting investments, with a pivotal role in managing both internal and external stakeholders Participating in the oversight of new and existing portfolio investments, fostering trustworthy and solid relationships with management teams and partners at portfolio companiesEXPERIENCE/SKILLS
The ideal candidate should possess:
A Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification with an outstanding academic and professional record A minimum of 3 years' full-time experience in a buy-side role, with specific expertise in the French market or within the French Private Equity sector Experience in managing team members and external advisors throughout the deal lifecycle and platform development Strong financial analysis and modeling capabilities, along with analytical and problem-solving skills The ability to swiftly adapt to various industries and businesses, while independently analyzing and promoting sound investment judgments Proficiency in interacting and building relationships with a diverse range of individuals across different locations, working effectively in a fast-paced environment, and a willingness to take on responsibility An open, flexible, positive, and proactive attitude, with attention to detail and a high motivation to contribute effectively to the team's success Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in both French and English is essential; knowledge of other European languages is advantageous Willingness to travel frequently outside of ParisABOUT GOLDMAN SACHS
