Role Overview

As a Logistics Support Specialist at Sun Chemical, you will be an integral part of the Supply Chain department, serving as the primary point of contact for customs-related inquiries and internal stakeholders. Your mission will involve managing technical stocks, monitoring existing contracts, and ordering equipment references while ensuring compliance with EHS rules and group regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inventory Management and Procurement
    • Verify that orders align with the site's technical equipment needs
    • Implement replenishment strategies to meet technical part requirements in a timely and responsive manner
    • Update the article database and create new references
  • Customs Management
    • Act as a liaison with customs authorities
    • Operate within the framework of simplified customs procedures
    • Coordinate the collection of goods from Switzerland with our partner carriers
  • Purchases
    • Monitor and maintain close relationships with suppliers
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for new contract implementation
    • Conduct price monitoring and stay informed about market developments
    • Process orders and their follow-up within a nomenclature of 5,000 current references
  • Optimization
    • Ensure compliance with process requirements when purchasing technical equipment
    • Analyze 'bad actors' in conjunction with the maintenance and process departments
    • Analyze item rotations from SAP databases and consider possible rationalizations
    • Create, monitor, and update performance indicators (KPIs) to enhance the monitoring of technical purchases and costs
  • Projects
    • Stay informed about technical innovations and potential local partnerships
    • Participate in projects related to purchasing for the site (optimization, etc.)

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Purchasing, or Customs
  • Significant experience in similar functions within an industry
  • Knowledge of customs regulations
  • Familiarity with the purchase of technical parts, inventory management, and procurement
  • Proficiency in SAP, particularly the MM and PM modules, and Office Pack
  • A profile that demonstrates rigor, method, and excellent interpersonal skills
