Investigating the Influence of Microbiome and Water Characteristics on Waterborne Pathogens
A 24-month postdoctoral research opportunity is available within the "Biology of Intracellular Bacteria" team at SFBI. This position is part of a collaborative project focused on understanding the microbiome of drinking water and its implications for public health. The project aims to conduct an in-depth analysis of the distribution of opportunistic pathogens in water systems and to identify critical biotic and abiotic factors influencing their prevalence.
Required QualificationsWe seek a postdoctoral researcher with expertise in analyzing drinking water microbiomes using techniques such as amplicon metagenomics, shotgun metagenomics, and comparative genomics. Candidates should possess a strong background in metagenomics and genomics, particularly in bioinformatics. Familiarity with standard molecular biology techniques is essential. Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, is required, while knowledge of French is a plus. A high level of motivation and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team are crucial.
