About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Instrumentation Engineer to join our team at MPH Groupe. As an Instrumentation Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that all instrumentation engineering is fit for purpose and meets the requirements of the Statement of Requirement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent the company's technical authority for instrumentation engineering.
- Prepare and suggest technical content for essential studies to initiate EPC contractor action.
- Supervise all subcontracted studies and provide support to other packages.
- Ensure instrumentation design choices take into account constructability, operability, and flexibility of the facilities.
- Propose recommendations on technical deviation requests and keep updated documentation related to instrumentation disciplines.
- Participate in studies required by third parties as needed.
- Manage the development of engineering specifications and provide quality assurance in the procurement of materials, equipment, and services.
- Communicate and apply HSE policies and ensure engineering is developed accordingly.
- Ensure the correct implementation of company rules and specifications, project specifications, relevant international standards, and applicable regulations.
- Lead the review of contractor key deliverables, including instrumentation PO reviews and consolidate comments from other engineering disciplines and operations.
- Provide technical assistance to the project for any technical audits.
- Provide expertise in instrumentation and relevant industry codes and standards associated with a multiple train LNG facility.
- Review and verify EPC contractor remaining detailed engineering deliverables, including P&IDs vendor data for related instrumentation.
- Review contractor-produced and package-vendor produced instrument data sheets.
- Provide oversight or participate in FAT systems.
- Participate in Inspection and Tests Plans (ITP) and FAT preparation and execution.
- Ensure instrumentation equipment is commissioned and started up as per detailed engineering documentation and vendor recommendations.
- Ensure the quality and completeness of instrumentation equipment and packages final documentation.
- Report potential impact on overall project strategy, planning, and target achievement.
- Promote workshops with HQ specialists and contractor specialists to ensure company concepts and comments are well understood and quickly integrated in technical documents.
- Guide EPC contractor main design selection in a fit-for-purpose approach to reach an optimized design.
- Ensure efficient review of applicable frame of reference.
- Participate actively in proper interface management with process, safety, rotating, electrical studies carried out during the EPSCC phase.
- Review and comment key technical documents of interfacing disciplines and project procedures.
- Participate in Project HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, PR.
- Provide technical inputs to any contractual discussions with EPC contractor.
- Contribute to the development of the digital plant through centric data management when applicable.
- Participate in vendors' technical evaluation.
- Ensure design validity and coherence with other disciplines and throughout the LNG facilities.
- Get knowledge of Omani norms and practices and use it in project when relevant.
- Assist commissioning, start-up, and operation teams when required. Transfer project knowledge to operations.
- Prepare REX and Lessons Learnt all along the EPC.
- Contribute to personnel skills improvement and encourage knowledge transfer.
Qualification, Certification & Educational Requirements:
- Diploma: Chartered Instrumentation Engineer with proven experience (> 10 years) with large onshore plants detailed design.
- Professional experience: several years of proven experience in EPSCC and operation stages of LNG projects.
- Good teamwork with previous team management desirable.
- Knowledge of project development in Oman and methods used to submit dossier to state expertise, permitting process, technical approval, Omani norms and standards, are all either an advantage or to progressively acknowledge and incorporate.
- Fluent in English.
