About Marble

Marble is a fintech infrastructure startup, backed by venture capitalists and investors. We are a pioneering company in the fight against payment fraud, focusing on wire transfer fraud. In addition, we develop an open-source decision engine for banks, payment service providers, and marketplaces. Our headquarters is located in central Paris, and we are expanding our team, with our first customers already in production.

Your Role

As a backend software engineer, your core responsibility is to collaborate with the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to design, build, and maintain the Marble API, including our open-source tools and libraries. You will take ownership and document your work, both internally and externally. You will also be responsible for building and overseeing the observability platform for our code.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and maintain complex backend applications

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Strong programming skills, including experience with Go, TypeScript, Python, Rust, and Java
  • Experience with relational databases, including SQL and database design
  • A proven track record of designing, building, and maintaining complex backend applications
  • An end-to-end understanding of the software stack
  • An entrepreneurial spirit, with a focus on customer value and a bias towards action
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Fluency in English (oral and written)
Nice to Have

The following skills are not required but would be beneficial:

  • Experience in security engineering, networking, pentesting, and/or cloud security
  • Experience in fintech, payments, fraud, or anti-money laundering
  • Experience in deploying large-scale applications in the cloud

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of €60,000-€100,000, depending on your experience. You will also receive significant BSPCE/stock-options for the founding team, up to 3 days remote/week, and Mutuelle (health insurance) and meal vouchers (tickets restaurant card or similar).
