The Mechanical Testing and Tribology Laboratory is dedicated to performing intricate evaluations to gather essential material data for the design of engine components. This role emphasizes tribological assessments, which study friction and contact phenomena. The laboratory is equipped with several testing benches, each designed to simulate the types of damage typically encountered in engine operations. These seven benches function uniquely, serving specific purposes to recreate the diverse frictional and contact scenarios present in aircraft engines.
The core responsibility of this position is to learn and master the various testing techniques, which will facilitate a deeper understanding of turbomachine functionality. As the apprentice develops autonomy and skills, opportunities for developmental projects within the lab will arise. These projects may include designing tools, modifying testing protocols or programs, and enhancing instrumentation for tests.
The lab is complemented by a machining workshop and 3D printing facilities, enabling nearly complete project realization from initial concept to final execution. The diverse environment fosters a rewarding experience for the apprentice, who will be positioned alongside mechanical testing, machining, composite fabrication, and thermal treatment operations, providing access to a broad spectrum of knowledge about materials and processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Task 1: Acquaintance with the abradable/erosion testing bench
- Task 2: Assistance and troubleshooting of the new High-Temperature abradable testing bench
- Task 3: Support and resolution of issues related to the new High-Temperature abradable testing bench
Candidate Profile
We are looking for candidates from a variety of educational backgrounds, with a preference for those who have studied Mechanical and Production Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, or Physical Measurement.
