Job DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled Backend Engineer to join our team, responsible for designing and implementing integrations with various data sources. As a member of our team, you will:
- Design and implement new integrations with data products, requiring in-depth knowledge of each data source's API, data model, and behavior.
- Make necessary changes to architecture and implementation to scale our data ingestion engine, handling large customer instances.
- Add new capabilities to existing integrations and support for completely new integration types.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a small team with a lot of room to grow, where you will have a significant impact on the development of our product and underlying architecture. Some potential projects you could work on include:
- Extending our SQL parser to support field lineage for a given SQL dialect.
- Adding catalog support for a vector database.
- Optimizing queries issued by our ingestion engine to reduce customer costs.
Our stack includes modern Java, Spring Boot 3, and a range of supporting services. You will have the opportunity to gain knowledge on many products in the modern data ecosystem, including BigQuery and Snowflake.
RequirementsWe are looking for a candidate with:
- More than two years of experience in a backend engineer role or equivalent.
- General knowledge of data warehouses, data visualization solutions, and ETL pipelines.
- Willingness to learn Java and Spring Boot.
- A passion for ownership of projects from design to production.
