FT Bartender

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced FT Bartender to join our team at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel in Seattle. As a key member of our George team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our esteemed guests in a sophisticated and elegant setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain the highest standards of appearance and cleanliness in the bar area, adhering to county health and department standards.
• Ensure that all service items and stock are prepared for each shift, ensuring seamless service delivery.
• Remain attentive to the needs and requests of our guests, providing personalized service and ensuring their satisfaction.
• Treat all guests with courtesy and respect, upholding the highest standards of customer service.
• Follow all applicable safety procedures, maintaining a safe and secure environment for guests and colleagues alike.
• Prepare and serve a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, adhering to Fairmont standard drink recipes and presentation standards.
• Learn the names and personally recognize our guests, providing a personalized experience.
• Record drink orders accurately and immediately input them into the POS system, ensuring seamless service delivery.
• Accept guests' payments, process credit card charges accurately, and make change as necessary.
• Wash, sterilize, and polish glassware, maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and presentation.
• Prepare garnishes for drinks, ensuring a visually appealing presentation.
• Maintain bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner, supporting efficient drink preparation and promotion of beverages.
• Present menus, make recommendations, and answer questions regarding food and beverages, providing expert knowledge and guidance.
• Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the bar, including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves, and storage areas.
• Receive and serve food orders to guests seated at the bar, ensuring seamless service delivery.
• Report all equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to the restaurant or bar manager, ensuring prompt resolution.
• Fulfill daily requisition sheets for alcohol, dry stock, and non-alcoholic items, ensuring accurate inventory management.

Qualifications and Skills:

• At least 1 year of bartending experience, preferably in a high-volume environment.
• Luxury experience and knowledge of LQA standards are highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of mixology techniques, beverage trends, and a wide range of spirits, wines, and cocktails.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with guests and colleagues in a professional and friendly manner.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Must hold valid authorization to work in the USA.
• Food Handler's Card and MAST permit are required.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
