About the Role
Amazon's EU AMZL Sustainability Engineering team is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to enhance initiatives within the broader electrification strategy.

Key Initiatives
Our core focus areas include the electrification of last-mile and middle-mile fleets, alongside the deployment of technologies that enhance energy efficiency in our facilities. This involves establishing one of the largest private charging networks globally and developing innovative electrical designs to facilitate smart grid operations.

Travel Opportunities
This position is based in various locations, including Luxembourg, Milan, Munich, or London, with potential travel of up to 25% within the country or to other EMEA regions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Align and manage stakeholder expectations regarding the installation of AMZL Electric Vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure and smart grid solutions.
  • Oversee vendor relationships to ensure installation capacity, quality assurance, and effective collaboration with onsite teams, including health and safety and operations.
  • Conduct design validation to ensure compliance with electrical standards during the installation of electrical systems.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert, assisting Field Engineering in preparing the supply chain for onsite installation execution.
  • Develop business cases and present them to leadership to define program scopes.

A Day in the Life
Your daily activities will involve engaging with various organizational levels and multiple stakeholder groups to drive impactful decisions across the Amazon transportation network. You will collaborate with partners from Operations, Process Improvement, Health and Safety, Ergonomics, Finance, Procurement, and external vendors to design and implement new equipment and processes for AMZL, ATS, and CF.

About the Team
The EU Sustainability Engineering team is tasked with defining and continuously improving electrical standards for EV charging networks and smart grid solutions. We prioritize design reliability and are committed to minimizing resource waste, which we consider a significant risk to sustainability efforts.

The vast scale of Amazon's last-mile network necessitates close collaboration with other teams. We rely on plans and financial justifications from the Global Fleet team or the EU Sustainability team, leverage the expertise of the Field Engineering team for installations, and gather ongoing feedback from Maintenance and Operations teams to enhance our offerings.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience in building, developing, and leading programs in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment with multiple stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in communicating complex topics to diverse audiences and conducting data analysis for informed decision-making.
  • Experience with Excel, reporting tools, databases, and cloud computing.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field with expertise in electrical installations.
  • Experience in electrical engineering programs, hardware procurement, and maintenance service contracting.
  • Experience in resource planning for large-scale programs.
  • Understanding of industry players in the electrical and energy sectors in Europe and worldwide.
  • Experience in customer/partner development and product validation through technological deep dives.
  • Familiarity with the EV charging industry and Smart Grid technology.
