At Perenco, we are committed to creating a more sustainable energy future. As a Senior Drilling Engineer, you will play a key role in our Drilling Operations team, reporting directly to the Drilling Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement cost-effective and safe drilling programs, ensuring compliance with Perenco's HSE rules and industry best practices.
- Train and supervise Junior Drilling Engineers, promoting a culture of excellence and innovation.
- Monitor drilling operations performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Prepare and evaluate tenders, budgets, and AFEs, ensuring technical excellence and value for money.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure drilling operations are carried out in accordance with approved plans.
- Utilize well engineering software, such as DSP-One, to support drilling operations and enhance performance.
- Review and implement corrective actions from end-of-well reports, ensuring continuous improvement.
- Stay up-to-date with drilling-related technological developments, evaluating potential applications to enhance operations.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Engineering degree or equivalent.
- 10 years of relevant experience, with a minimum of 7-8 years as a Drilling Engineer with an Operator.
- Understanding of well control techniques and engineering criteria associated with well construction and operations planning.
- Ability to work with drilling software and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Key Skills:
- Strong technical expertise and autonomy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
