Dock Operator

Job Summary:

ADM is seeking a skilled laborer to work as a barge cleaner at our American River Transportation Company (ARTCo) wash dock location in St. Louis, MO.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clean barges by washing decks, hoppers, and covers
• Clean tank barges
• Prepare and clean barges using pumps, wash hoses, and cranes
• Perform general cleaning and maintenance of crane barges, shops, and yards
• Operate cranes safely and assist harbor boats, mechanics, and welders
• Assist with additional duties and responsibilities as required or requested

Requirements:

• Previous experience preferred but not required
• Ability to follow direction and execute tasks under supervision
• Crane operating experience preferred but not required
• Reading and writing skills sufficient to comprehend and complete various documents
• Ability to work in a flexible schedule and adapt to changes in assignments and priorities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to work in various climates
• Must have a history of safe work behavior and a commitment to safety policies and procedures
• Ability to work extended hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Must have reliable transportation to and from work

Physical Requirements:

• Standing for prolonged periods
• Frequent heavy lifting
• Prolonged periods of kneeling, bending, and climbing stairs/ladders
• Ability to work near or on large bodies of water, at various heights, and in confined spaces
