Postdoctoral Researcher in Continuous Variable Quantum Information

We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join our Quantum Information team at the Quantum Flagship. The successful candidate will work on theoretical aspects of continuous variable quantum information, including characterization, certification, and verification of continuous variable resource states and operations.
The Quantum Information team is an interdisciplinary research group covering computer science, theoretical physics, and experimental quantum optics. We are based in LIP6, Sorbonne Université, in central Paris, and are founding members of interdisciplinary centres the Quantum Information Centre Sorbonne and the Paris Centre for Quantum Technologies.
We strive to promote equality, diversity, inclusion, and tolerance. The position is initially for 12 months, renewable for up to 24 months, with a flexible start date.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement novel methods for characterizing and certifying continuous variable resource states and operations.
- Contribute to the development of quantum computing architectures with continuous variable systems.
- Investigate quantum error-correction with continuous variable systems.
- Explore quantum communication protocols with continuous variable systems.
Applicants should have a strong background in theoretical physics, computer science, or a related field. A Ph.D. in a relevant field is required. Experience with quantum information processing and continuous variable systems is highly desirable.
Applicants should send their CV, a cover letter, and arrange for at least two references to be sent to the Quantum Flagship. The deadline for the first round of applications is 30/06/2024, and the second round of applications is 31/08/2024.
