Electron Microscope Service Technician

Position Overview:
The primary role of the Service Technician is to provide expert support and maintenance for the range of electron microscopes manufactured by Thermo Fisher Scientific. This position involves the on-site installation, upkeep, and repair of intricate associated systems and equipment.
Geographical Focus: Ilde de France and Northern regions (Lille, Amiens)
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate independently as part of a dedicated service team for electron microscopy products, focusing on the Life Sciences and Material Sciences sectors within the MSD division.
- Install advanced equipment and adhere to testing protocols to guarantee precise functionality.
- Conduct routine preventive maintenance on equipment and address corrective maintenance requests as needed.
- Provide customer support within the designated area and offer assistance throughout France and occasionally in Europe. Interventions may take place in specialized environments such as clean rooms, P3 laboratories, or controlled nuclear zones.
- Thoroughly document service activities in the field by preparing detailed service and technical reports.
- Facilitate effective communication internally with various stakeholders including hotline support, field application engineers, product managers, service managers, and sales engineers.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing service quality and operational efficiency.
Candidate Profile:
- Proven experience as a technician or engineer in electronics and physical measurements.
- Prior knowledge and/or experience with electron microscopy is essential.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills for sophisticated electronic and mechanical instruments in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to work autonomously or as part of a remote team (Home Office).
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
- Willingness to travel daily within the designated area and occasionally throughout France and Europe/Morocco.
- Proficient level of English is required.
