About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Social Worker - Child Protection Specialist to join our team at Département d'Ille-et-Vilaine. As a key member of our Child Protection team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being and safety of children in our care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and manage cases of child abuse and neglect, working closely with families, social services, and other stakeholders to ensure the best possible outcomes for children.
  • Develop and implement individualized plans to support children and families, including providing counseling, advocacy, and connecting them with community resources.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, such as teachers, healthcare providers, and law enforcement, to ensure a comprehensive approach to child protection.
  • Conduct home visits, interviews, and other assessments to gather information and make informed decisions about child safety.
  • Provide education and support to families on topics such as parenting, child development, and child safety.
  • Participate in court proceedings and provide expert testimony as needed.
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices and research in child protection, and contribute to the development of policies and procedures to ensure the highest standards of care.
Requirements
  • Diplôme d'Etat obligatoire d'assistant.e de service social or d'éducateur.trice spécialisé.e.
  • Permis B obligatoire.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including children, families, and community partners.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound judgments.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of flexibility and adaptability.
  • Fluency in French and English, with the ability to communicate effectively in both languages.
