The Creation Platform serves as a pivotal element in the growth strategy of Amadeus Travel Unit, facilitating the next generation of travel ecosystems. It integrates partners, suppliers, customers, and travelers through innovative solutions, capabilities, and content to enhance traveler-centric journeys.
The primary objective of the Creation Platform is to foster innovation, amplify business value, and enhance operational efficiency by sharing capabilities across Amadeus' diverse business units, promoting openness and ecosystem integration.
We are in search of a skilled Product Manager with a profound interest in data and platform capabilities, capable of navigating the complexities of the ecosystem, collaborating with stakeholders from various teams, and demonstrating enthusiasm for Amadeus' growth strategy.
Your Responsibilities
You will oversee platform capabilities related to event processing and data exchange. As a Platform Product Manager, your duties will include:
- Conducting requirement analysis, market research, and IT/technical monitoring.
- Developing platform capabilities strategy and positioning, value proposition (including product lifecycle management and internal/external exposure), and collaborating on mergers and acquisitions.
- Supporting delivery teams with technical and functional solution analysis.
- Assisting in execution (prioritization, resource allocation, budgeting).
Under the scope of "Event Processing and Data Exchange," the Creation Platform offers the following capabilities:
- Event Enrichment: Correlation, event detection, aggregation.
- Operational Optimization: Event sequencing, archiving, recovery capabilities.
- Event Management via Control Plane: Automated deployment, observability of produced and consumed events, etc.
- Connectivity: Integration with Global Event Mesh (Amadeus middleware based on Solace technology) for event consumption or publication across all Amadeus applications.
As the Product Manager responsible for these capabilities, you will be accountable for:
Positioning
- Leading communications with engineering teams, CRP architects, internal customers, etc., to identify requirements, opportunities, and addressable business and governance/compliance challenges.
- Facilitating the data strategy and ensuring adoption by other business units. Communicating capability evolution, gathering feedback from users and the PM community to refine the roadmap.
- Maximizing synergies with the Data Exchange Platform project, aimed at creating a data exchange ecosystem within the travel/mobility industry.
- Collaborating with the engineering community, CRP architects, and domain experts or external consultants to consolidate a clear vision of the business landscape: competition, partners, market trends.
- Proposing strategic directions to management to ensure unified communication (including investment/budget proposals, feature prioritization, etc.).
- Conveying strategic direction to customers and other stakeholders.
- Maintaining portfolio business and decision logs.
Lifecycle Management
- Managing platform capabilities through various maturity stages.
- Controlling the strategy for all maturity levels, from introducing new technologies (forecasting adoption, defining stage gates, and potentially halting ideation) to product end-of-life and decommissioning (replacement, migration, communication, change management).
- Defining metrics to monitor lifecycle progress and success criteria.
- Establishing the cost model and tracking unit cost evolution capabilities.
Execution
- Keeping the platform capability backlog updated in close collaboration with relevant Epic Owners, adapting to changing business priorities, ADO, or internal customer needs. Proactively communicating significant changes to the backlog or roadmap to key stakeholder groups.
- Owning the long-term capability roadmap and vision. Collaborating with Epic Owners, Product Owners, Architects, and Engineering to refine requirements and feed the execution backlog and roadmap. Ensuring a balanced roadmap for a scalable and optimized user experience with a stable and high-performing technology product that continually meets business needs, non-functional requirements, and system enablers.
- Coordinating and prioritizing feature delivery to align with go-to-market activities as necessary for new features across the organization. Demonstrating a deep understanding of the problems being addressed and the market's needs (primarily internal).
