We are seeking an experienced General Counsel to join our team at Driveco. As a key member of our executive team, you will be responsible for providing strategic legal advice to our CEO and board of directors.
About the RoleThe General Counsel will be responsible for leading our legal department and providing expert advice on all legal matters related to our business. This includes structuring commercial contracts, general terms and conditions, partnerships, and operational contracts. You will also be responsible for managing our legal team and overseeing the delivery of legal services to support our corporate goals.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the corporate legal strategy to promote and protect the company's interests
- Provide expert and strategic legal advice to the board of directors and executive management
- Anticipate and identify legal issues and counsel the executives in order to develop legal strategies and solutions
- Oversee the legal team and ensure the delivery of legal services to support corporate goals
- Draft and negotiate contracts, including commercial agreements, confidentiality agreements, and contracts related to the construction and operation of charging infrastructure
- Manage commercial, employment, and other disputes within the organization
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- At least 10 years of legal experience in a law firm or corporate setting, with a strong preference for background in energy or technology sectors
- Demonstrated leadership and management experience
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to develop legal strategy and objectives
- High degree of professional ethics, integrity, and gravitas
- Experience in corporate governance, risk management, and compliance (GRC)
- Prior experience in a leadership role within a rapidly growing company in the technology or energy sector
- Knowledge of intellectual property law, contracts, and litigation
