Reporting Structure:
This role reports directly to the Legal & Compliance Director overseeing Legal & Regulatory, Trade Sanctions, and Export Control.

Key Responsibilities:
The primary focus of this position is to assist the Legal & Compliance Director in navigating legal and regulatory challenges related to ethics and compliance, specifically in the following areas:

  1. Facilitating the creation, execution, and assessment of a compliance framework dedicated to international trade sanctions and export control issues. This includes the global rollout of training programs.
  2. Supporting business units and relevant departments in understanding and adhering to international trade sanctions and export control regulations.
  3. Keeping abreast of the evolving legal landscape concerning international trade sanctions and export controls.
  4. Assisting in the centralized management and oversight of Ethics & Compliance litigation and arbitration cases, along with regular updates to management and statutory auditors as part of the financial review process.

Additionally, based on workload assessments and team dynamics, the candidate should be prepared to assist in other areas as deemed necessary by the Chief Compliance Officer.

Qualifications and Skills:
Essential:

  • A graduate degree in Law (equivalent to Master 2 level).
Preferred:
  • An MBA.
  • Membership in the Bar and experience in litigation, particularly with a focus on white-collar crime regulations, is advantageous.
Experience:
Essential:
  • Demonstrated experience in trade sanctions and/or export control within an international corporate environment, coupled with a genuine interest in compliance-related matters.
  • A minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in the legal field.
  • Experience in an international business context is crucial due to the global nature of the company's operations.
  • Proficiency in English and fluency in French are required.
