Position OverviewBecome a Key Member of the Fusion and Modular Nuclear Business Unit You will be part of a growing team tasked with the development and execution of work packages for our clients in the nuclear, marine, and oil & gas sectors, primarily from our Sunderland office. This role offers the flexibility of hybrid working arrangements.
Your Responsibilities:
Project Leadership: Oversee and organize project tasks for a team of engineers while collaborating with project management resources.
Engineering Solutions Development: Provide high-quality engineering solutions across diverse topics and activities.
Progress Communication: Update the Lead Engineer and Project Manager on technical advancements and project milestones.
Team Mentorship: Deliver technical support and guidance to team members, particularly junior or newly graduated engineers.
Time Management: Effectively manage your schedule to meet established deadlines, budget targets, and quality standards with minimal oversight.

- Minimum 2:1 BEng in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
- Relevant senior engineering experience in sectors such as offshore, renewables, nuclear, or other highly regulated fields.
- Strong foundation in mechanical and structural engineering.
- Proficient in CAD software: Experience with Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, and/or Catia.
- Strong mathematical capabilities: Familiarity with MathCAD software.
- Expertise in technical report generation: Skilled in producing design and substantiation reports, assembly procedures, etc.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes: Knowledge of welding, machining, etc.
- Experienced in the engineering design cycle from concept through to manufacture.
Additional Information:
- Familiarity with European and Offshore standards: Experience with Eurocode 3 and DNV.
- Master's degree is advantageous.
- Skilled in reviewing and approving engineering CAD assemblies and drawings.
- Proficient in verifying engineering documentation: Manual calculations, reports, etc.
- Excellent Finite Element Analysis skills: In-depth knowledge of ANSYS Workbench is preferred.
- Experienced in non-linear and fatigue FEA: Familiarity with DNV and Eurocodes.
