Saddleback Consulting Ltd provides specialized consulting and professional services to our esteemed partners, including Juniper Networks, Palo Alto Networks, and Arista Networks. We are currently in search of a consultancy contractor for the role of Network Engineer focused on Arista Networks.
We are looking for an Advanced Network Services Engineer to deliver expert post-sales support to our clientele. Fluency in both French and English is essential. Candidates should be based in the region or be open to relocation. EU passport holders are preferred.
In this role, you will serve as a subject matter expert for Arista, providing your expertise in routing and switching to design, implement, and support our Software-Driven Open Networking deployments. These deployments cater to high-performance Data Center, Campus, and Cloud Grade Routing solutions. The ideal candidate will be comfortable communicating across various functions within Arista, as well as with clients and partners. This position is initially a contract role with potential for extension.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver advanced post-sales engineering support for Arista's Open Networking solutions across Data Center, Campus, and Service Provider networks, including our Cloud-based Wi-Fi offerings.
- Evaluate customer network designs focusing on VxLAN, EVPN BGP, and Lead-Spine architectures, providing deployment recommendations.
- Facilitate migration or interconnection from Cisco, Juniper, and other vendors to Arista infrastructure.
- Assist in configuration build-outs, including network provisioning automation utilizing Python and tools such as Chef or Ansible.
- Support implementation and change control processes.
- Participate in proof of concepts (POC) and conduct thorough testing to validate design scenarios.
- Provide bug scrubs and code recommendations.
- Act as a liaison to TAC and internal development teams, as well as the customer.
- Offer customer guidance on architectural inquiries, product prerequisites, and features.
- Translate complex business requirements into effective Leaf-Spine Network solutions.
- Collaborate with Pre-Sales Engineers and Account Executives to design network solutions.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key partners.
- Engage in partner events, training sessions, and provide ongoing training to customer teams globally.
- Continue professional development to maintain expertise.
- Understand client business objectives and technical requirements.
- Meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for sales and clients.
- Exercise discretion and independent judgment regularly.
- Maintain professional relationships with colleagues, partners, and clients.
- Some travel may be required within the assigned territory.
Education and Experience
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is required.
- Network Industry certifications, including Arista Cloud Engineer (ACE) level 3 - 5, are highly desirable.
- Over 5 years of networking experience with extensive hands-on expertise in routing and switching configuration and deployment.
- Prior experience in designing high-performance Data Center and/or MPLS-based networks, with knowledge of leaf-spine architectures.
- Demonstrated experience in technical post-sales roles, either as a Network Consulting Engineer or Advanced Systems Engineer, is preferred.
- Expertise in Ethernet, VLANs, VxLAN, EVPN, IP Routing, BGP (Border Gateways), iBGP, eBGP, OSPF, Multicast, and QoS.
- Proficiency in at least one area of Data Center technologies, such as OpenStack, SDN, NFV, Load Balancers, Virtualization, or Linux tools.
- Advanced knowledge of industry-standard CLI.
- Ability to compose white papers is a plus.
- Background in Perl, Python, or scripting for network automation is advantageous.
- Exceptional customer service and verbal communication skills.
- Strong written communication skills, with the ability to document and track opportunities and follow up on meetings.
