About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Visualization Designer to join our team at the OECD. As a Data Visualization Designer, you will be responsible for developing innovative and engaging data-driven content, including charts, infographics, and interactive visualizations.

Main Responsibilities
  • Work with our team to create compelling visualizations of data and analytical findings for inclusion in reports.
  • Develop visuals for inclusion in PowerPoint presentations and related animations.
  • Contribute to the design, development, and update of data-based visuals for use on our website, social channels, and print products.
  • Research and experiment with new data visualization tools.
  • Coordinate usability tests of data visualization outputs and suggest improvements.
  • Participate in our Community of Practices on data visualization to stay up-to-date on initiatives and available tools.
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field such as computer sciences, data sciences, scientific communication, computer science, graphic design, or similar.
  • A strong portfolio of projects turning data into insightful visuals.
  • Proven ability to work in a dynamic, international, and multi-lingual environment.
Requirements
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent knowledge of Adobe Illustrator; experience with other Adobe products, especially Photoshop, InDesign, and After Effects is a major advantage.
  • Strong design skills, including typography, layout, and data presentation.
  • Experience performing data analysis and extracting insights from large and complex data sets using languages such as R, Python, or other statistical analysis packages.
  • Knowledge of GIS mapping software.
  • Experience using JavaScript to produce performant and usable interactive data visualizations that run in a web browser. Knowledge of frameworks like Vue or React is a plus.
  • Good knowledge of HTML and CSS.
Language

Fluency in one of the two OECD official languages (English and French) and knowledge of the other, with a commitment to reach a good working level.
