Type of contract: permanent contract

Royal Canin is seeking a highly skilled Backend Architect to join its Digital Factory team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing robust and scalable technical solutions to support the organization's ambitions.

The ideal candidate will have 7 to 15 years of experience in Microservices Development for a digital environment, with a strong background in Agile methodology (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe). You will lead technical teams with external and internal actors, and have the ability to work with different teams and various team dynamics to achieve challenging delivery objectives.

The role of Backend Architect entails leading, guiding, and supervising multiple development teams working on projects utilizing Node.js, Angular, and/or React technologies. You will establish the software/microservices architecture of your project or steer it in a different direction, in alignment with the technical direction of the project.

As a Backend Architect, you will have to:

  • Oversee the quality of what is produced by your team.
  • Communicate on technical matters, leveraging your expertise and contributing to the visibility of your team's expertise.
  • Ensure internal coordination between your teams and other teams involved in the project.
  • Ensure the flow of information and validate, if necessary, the various technical actions to be taken.
  • Propose the right design based on functional and business challenges, and advocate for your choices in front of the stakeholders.
  • Lead and mentor multiple development teams in designing, implementing, and maintaining software solutions based on Angular and/or React.
  • Design and define the technical architecture of applications, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
  • Collaborate closely with development teams, Delivery Leads, and POs to understand business requirements and define appropriate technical solutions.
  • Establish and enforce coding standards, best practices, and development conventions within the teams.
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks throughout the development lifecycle.

Meetings:

  • Synchronization with backend lead devs of all product squads
  • Technical retrospective: Once per sprint, exchange with the entire DEV team on technical improvements => Deliverables are technical tickets to be included in sprints (optional guest), leads must document decisions with CRs
  • Back and Front Design Authority (weekly)
  • Synchronization with front and back teams (sharing new topics, roadmaps, etc.)
  • Synchronization with DevOps
