About the Role

As a Specialist Buyer at Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise, you will be responsible for ensuring that all purchasing assignments are executed and completed in a timely manner to support the activities of the Business Division for which you are responsible.

Key Responsibilities

  • The supplier selection process for new projects.
  • Negotiating contracts, amendments and T&Cs with your suppliers.
  • Managing and developing the commercial relationship with your suppliers.
  • Continuous improvement of your suppliers' performance.
  • Identifying commercial risks and taking appropriate action to manage them.
  • Managing escalations with your suppliers, EMS and ODM.
  • Promoting ALE's Purchasing strategy and policy within the company, including production transfers where necessary.

Requirements

  • A graduate of engineering school, ideally with a postgraduate degree in business administration or economics.
  • 5 to 10 years' successful professional experience in the telecommunications industry or in the electronics products and/or electronics manufacturing industry.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in managing supplier relationships.
  • Experience in drafting and negotiating contracts.
  • Ability to adapt to a multicultural environment.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Experience of the supply chain and the raw materials purchasing process.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing.
