Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join our innovative team at CEA, focusing on the advancement of fully resorbable medical technologies aimed at bioelectronic signal stimulation and monitoring.
Project Goals:
- Develop devices that safely dissolve after their intended use, thus removing the necessity for surgical extraction.
- Tackle critical unmet medical challenges, including transient neuromodulation and the early identification of post-surgical infections.
Your Responsibilities:
- Design and construct a wireless communication device that can measure pH levels to identify infections and anastomotic leaks following gastrointestinal procedures.
- Collaborate with specialists in polymer science, biomaterials, microfabrication techniques, and antenna design to utilize resorbable materials such as bioplastics, metal alloys, waxes, and pH-sensitive hydrogels.
- Conduct thorough characterization of the device's electrical and mechanical attributes in a simulated biological setting, along with evaluating its biodegradability.
- Contribute to the initiative aimed at developing disposable electronic devices that minimize environmental impact.
Candidate Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in microtechnology or a related field with a solid foundation in medical device innovation.
- Proven experience in microsystem design, microfabrication processes, and micro-packaging is essential.
- Strong ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment, engaging with biologists, chemists, engineers, and healthcare professionals.
