In light of our robust growth, we are seeking exceptional talent to enhance our Engineering Architecture team. This team is tasked with ensuring top-tier design quality for both our B2C and B2B offerings, while also collaborating with Product teams to scope and develop innovative features for our products.
The architecture team is focused on cultivating comprehensive expertise across Ledger products, and we are particularly interested in reinforcing our team with a specialist in our Ledger Live technology stack.
Ledger Live serves as the primary software that allows users to manage and monitor their cryptocurrency portfolios. It acts as a bridge between hardware wallets and various blockchains, delivering a cohesive user experience. With over 1 million monthly users, Ledger Live is a Community Driven product.
This role is hands-on, and we expect our architects to delve deeply into the code, assisting engineering teams with their daily challenges.
Your Responsibilities- Collaborate with Product & Engineering on the Discovery & Design of new product features
- Lead Technical Initiatives with Engineering to enhance our stack, address technical debt, and promote sound engineering practices
- Provide expertise and hands-on support to engineering teams on critical topics
- Investigate new, innovative domains with a focus on practical Ledger applications
- Work closely with engineering leads, product managers, and delivery managers to ensure high-quality design on key initiatives
- Partner with product teams to define, develop, and implement requirements for new product features
- Assist Engineering managers in identifying, addressing, and prioritizing critical technical debt
- Actively contribute to the development activities of the supported squads
- Become a Ledger solution expert, understanding all use-case scenarios outlined in this job description
- Engage in our open-source projects and nurture our developer community by contributing to and maintaining essential Open Source software, while helping shape our platform strategy
- Enhance visibility on the roadmap by providing gross estimates of implementation complexity
- Promote Ledger's visibility by presenting our technological expertise at conferences or to customers
- This position will support the Ledger Live Hub team, as well as the eCommerce and Internal Systems team.
- The Live Hub team develops the front end for the Live wallet application on both desktop and mobile, while the eCommerce and IS team is responsible for the Ledger web store and internal supply chain systems. This role is expected to evolve into leading a small team of architects and requires experience in managing highly skilled, autonomous technical professionals.
- 10+ years of experience in technical design, development, execution, testing, and delivery
- Strong background and interest in algorithm development and optimization across our stack, from low-level device interaction to blockchain technologies
- Proficiency in Typescript and JavaScript, along with familiarity with other programming paradigms
- Understanding of UI and front-end design patterns
- Comfortable with various application development stacks: React Native, Android, iOS
- Familiarity with web back-end stacks, including PHP
- Eagerness to learn about blockchain mechanisms and explore complex systems
- Experience in leading small teams of senior, autonomous developers
- Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams to define scope, goals, project plans, and deliverables
- Strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills and a capacity for cross-functional collaboration
- Exceptional presentation and written communication skills
- Engineering degree
- Experience or contributions to open-source projects
- Background in Embedded Software development
- Familiarity with other Ledger backend stacks and languages (Python, Scala, and related frameworks)
- Knowledge of functional programming and experience with GraphQL
- Understanding of cryptography and security practices
