About the Role:
DoubleVerify's mission is to equip media buyers with fully automated purchasing strategies for display campaigns, resulting in unparalleled performance with minimal human intervention.
The Data Engineering team is integral to the DV product, facilitating communication between DoubleVerify and its partners. Accurate and dependable data is essential for all teams. We handle diverse and large-scale data ingestion and manage outbound communications with partners. Utilizing partner APIs, we cross-reference with a set of business rules to upload models generated by the Scibids product.
As the Data Engineering Team Lead, you will guide the data engineering team and actively engage in project development.
Your responsibilities will include establishing OKRs and the Data Engineering roadmap, overseeing daily task prioritization, and sharing best practices with the team. You will also explore and evaluate various methods to ensure job scalability.
Additionally, you will participate in development efforts to enhance the product. The scope of the data engineering role encompasses:
- Creation of ELT jobs (API dumps, data formatting, big data insertion)
- Development of APIs and libraries to facilitate inter-team communication
- Contribution to the development of a reverse ETL for uploading DoubleVerify models
Reporting to: Senior Director, Data Engineering
Minimum Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a data engineer or software engineer
- At least one prior experience in a leadership role
- Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages
- Strong SQL and Python skills
- Ability to write code that is simple and concise (KISS principle)
- Willingness and capability to learn additional programming languages as necessary
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional experience handling large datasets
- Experience with at least two of the following: distributed and parallel systems, information retrieval, development of large software systems
- Regular engagement in technology monitoring related to data
