We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Supply Chain Data Engineer to join our team at Amazon. As a key member of our Data Center Field Engineering Team, you will be responsible for driving Mechanical/Electrical Engineering services, construction, and implementation of enterprise data centers that meet quality and performance levels across the globe.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead projects to fit out data centers to meet ever-evolving customer needs as we continue expanding our fleet to hyper-scale.
- Assist in Data Center site selection, planning, and development.
- Evaluate different mechanical/electrical systems and make data-driven decisions about suitable solutions based on our guidelines.
- Work with colo vendors to review designs for new Data Centers in your region, including design input, submittal review, and incorporating AWS products to ensure designs meet AWS expectations.
- Directly support operational issues with ad-hoc training, complex operating procedure reviews, including essential equipment, and event support.
- Provide technical support to the design for existing data center upgrades and design-solutions that add capacity, improve availability, and increase efficiency.
- Support operating partners to lead, review, and approve designs for existing co-location (colo) data center upgrades that improve availability/efficiency.
- Interface with operating partners, data center design engineering team, server hardware team, environmental health and safety team to promote standards that maintain consistency and reliability in services delivered by operating partners.
- Initiate and lead engineering site audits within leased or colo data centers.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical/electrical engineering, or 7+ years of relevant mechanical/electrical engineering experience.
- 7+ years of experience directly related to data center design and in-depth understanding of related critical equipment.
- Understanding of both mechanical and electrical equipment/design related to data centers (including but not limited to: variable frequency drives, chillers [air-cooled and water-cooled], pumps, cooling towers, heat exchangers, CRAHs, air economizers, etc.).
- Direct experience with the design, construction, operation, or maintenance of mission critical facilities, especially data centers.
