Formulation Engineer

Catalent Pharma Solutions is a leading provider of advanced delivery technologies and solution development for drugs, biologics, consumer, and animal health products. Our Limoges site is a Center of Excellence in Biotechnology for the European market, focused on clinical activities until phase 3. We are seeking a Formulation Engineer to contribute to Limoges' growth.

• Support biologics drug product development projects, applying technical knowledge of biomolecules to develop stable formulations and compatible processes for GMP manufacturing.
• Design, execute, and interpret internal and external biologics drug product development studies, including high-throughput pre-formulation screening, forced degradation, formulation development, and process characterization using DOE.
• Author technical documents, such as protocols, reports, and operating procedures.
• Review technical documents for accuracy and thoroughness.
• Participate in client meetings, offering technical support when required.
• Present results and planned experiments clearly and concisely, both verbally and in written documents.
• Train, coach, or mentor other associate scientists and/or analysts of the team.
• Maintain awareness of scientific and technical literature relevant to formulation and biologic drug product development expertise.

• PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline, preferred with at least 3 years of relevant experience in the biopharmaceutical industry.
• Fluent in both English and French.
• Knowledge of formulation development of biologics, including monoclonal antibodies, therapeutic proteins, peptides, and oligopeptides.
• Good knowledge of analytical tools used for development and characterization of therapeutic protein formulation: DLS, SLS, nano DSF, Cryo-microscopy, DSC viscosity, osmolality, density, pH, Karl Fischer Spectrophotometry (UV, Fluorescence).
• Knowledge of parenteral forms formulation development and manufacturing.
• First exposure to bio-statistics and Design of Experiment (DoE) strategy.
• Familiar with biologics drug product degradation mechanisms and protein chemistry, a plus.
