As a Senior Legal Advisor within the Insurance sector, you will be an integral part of a legal team that supports the operations of XL Catlin across a diverse array of legal matters, both domestically and internationally.
Your Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with underwriters, middle office, and risk consultants to propose solutions that adhere to applicable laws while meeting the needs of XL Catlin's clients and partners.
- Provide guidance on complex legal issues to various XL Catlin teams.
- Assist international cross-functional teams in reviewing and validating various technical contractual documents, including confidentiality agreements, mandates, co-reinsurance agreements, brokerage protocols, and commercial contracts.
- Support local initiatives aligned with the global legal team in the APAC Europe region.
- Act as a technical expert and mentor junior team members.
- Aid the Senior Legal Advisor for France in managing complex projects and requests.
- Assist in regulatory matters concerning supervisory requirements from relevant authorities.
- Monitor legal and regulatory changes, focusing on insurance and distribution rules, contract law, financial crime regulations, and other pertinent areas affecting the French branch and its clients.
- Participate in training sessions for underwriters, underwriting assistants, and claims handlers.
Qualifications:
- A Master’s degree in Private Law, with a preference for Insurance Law.
- Native French speaker with proficiency in English, both written and spoken; knowledge of an additional regional language is advantageous.
