Your Role: Safety Operations Engineer
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Safety Operations Engineer to join our team in the field of Nuclear Decommissioning and Waste. In this crucial role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the safety and security of our operations.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive safety visits and meetings, followed by detailed reports.
- Deliver engaging internal QSE (Quality, Safety, Environment) training sessions.
- Track workplace accidents meticulously, analyze their root causes, and propose effective improvement recommendations.
- Establish and monitor key safety indicators to track performance and identify areas for enhancement.
- Prepare diligently for certification audits and client audits, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards.
- Review project files and sites thoroughly, identifying potential safety hazards and recommending mitigation measures.
- Develop accurate exposure sheets to assess and manage potential risks associated with various activities.
- Integrate essential safety aspects into operational documents, promoting a culture of safety throughout the organization.
- Prepare comprehensive risk analysis notes in the areas of safety and environment, identifying potential hazards and outlining mitigation strategies.
Your Expertise:
- Conduct thorough security visits to ensure the protection of assets and personnel.
- Provide ongoing support for daily compliance with safety requirements at our facilities.
- Raise awareness among stakeholders internally, promoting a shared commitment to safety.
- Establish and monitor key safety indicators to track performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Assist the client and relevant safety authorities in their endeavors.
- Analyze and document events meticulously, identifying trends and contributing to continuous improvement.
- Manage and develop AIP (Accident Investigation Procedure) forms effectively.
- Integrate essential safety aspects into operational documents, promoting a culture of safety throughout the organization.
- Participate actively in contractual meetings, ensuring that safety considerations are addressed.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess a degree in a relevant field (e.g., nuclear engineering) and demonstrate expertise in safety and security practices. A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the nuclear industry is required. Adaptability, meticulous attention to detail, and strong teamwork skills are essential for success in this role.
