The Alternative Credit department manages nearly €50 billion in assets across various alternative credit sectors, including ABS & CLO, ILS, Private Financing, and more, with a strong presence in both Europe and the US.
The Portfolio Manager / Analyst will become a vital member of the Alternative Credit Origination team, which focuses on tailored securitizations and oversees funds aimed at retail clients with complex operational setups, including specific investment guidelines and liquidity requirements.
Key Responsibilities:- Generate trade ideas through discussions with arranging banks and sponsors, conducting market research, and analyzing competitive intelligence.
- Underwrite and structure new investments, including transaction modeling, legal documentation review in collaboration with legal and tax teams, negotiations with counterparties, due diligence on managers or servicers, ESG scoring, and drafting credit memos and presentations for internal committees.
- Monitor existing investments through quantitative performance analysis, cash flow forecasting, regular communication with key stakeholders, and providing recommendations for potential amendments.
- Manage the portfolio by allocating approved investments across funds, booking new transactions, validating net asset values, overseeing currency or interest hedging transactions, and participating in investor reporting.
- Develop and maintain quantitative tools using Python and Excel VBA for tasks such as ranking CLO managers, producing mark-to-model valuations, and establishing internal rating models.
- Support business development by preparing case studies on past investments and creating marketing materials outlining the investment strategy for prospective investors.
- Collaborate closely with IT developers to integrate developed tools into existing front office systems.
- Work in tandem with the structuring team on launching or restructuring new investment vehicles.
Education/Qualifications: Degree from a top engineering school, business school, or university with a focus on mathematics, finance, or computer science.
Experience: Previous experience in a banking or asset management environment, with exposure to securitization being a plus.
Knowledge & Skills: Proficient in Excel and VBA, with intermediate skills in Python.
