About the RoleThe successful candidate will be based at our headquarters in Grenoble, France. The primary responsibility will be to ensure equipment is correctly tested and documented, followed by on-site installation and user training. With clients worldwide, there is a requirement for international travel to support and install client equipment.
Application Engineers are also responsible for handling customer support and after-sales care, including recreating bugs or errors in software, diagnosing hardware issues, and optimizing processes. As a start-up, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to tackle a wide range of issues with various responsibilities across the business.
Responsibilities- Equipment test and tool qualification
- Aiding in the installation and acceptance process of equipment
- Providing quality on-site support, repair, planned maintenance, and service of complex electro-mechanical systems
- Troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and software problems remotely or on-site
- Root cause analysis down to the component level
- Reproducing bugs or errors on in-house equipment and software test
- Software test and aiding the software team in developments and improvements
- Customer training and applications/process support
- Generating and maintaining strong relationships with customers for future business generation
- Good record-keeping of works and tests carried out
The ideal candidate must be self-motivated and work well autonomously. A zero-defect mindset and a desire to provide the highest level of service to customers are essential. The ability to work well with the team and have a professional yet light-hearted approach is crucial. Good problem-solving and critical analysis skills are necessary, as well as the ability to follow a problem from occurrence to resolution. The candidate must be cool under pressure and natural in front of clients during on-site work.
Technical Skills- Master's degree or above in Electronics, Physics, Automation, or other science/engineering-related fields
- Minimum 5 years of work experience in installation, test, process, or applications supporting advanced equipment in science, research, or industry
- Troubleshooting/problem-solving electrical wiring faults, process, and software issues
- Knowledge of electrical testing and/or wafer-level test methods is a bonus
- Experience in the semiconductor industry is a bonus but not required
- Knowledge of MRAM and memory device testing is a bonus but not required
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Independent and self-motivated
- Ability to develop strong and lasting client relationships
